2020 proved that the fight against cancer can’t be cancelled, postponed or rescheduled. This year, we remain optimistic that we will be able to host our 2021 event on
September 30, 2021 at the Hy-Vee Arena in the Historic West Bottoms of Kansas City, MO however we remain committed to analyzing the climate of the pandemic between now and then as the health and safety of our attendees, sponsors, survivors and staff are our number one priority.

You can team up with our lead supporters, our coaches, including Bill Self, Bruce Weber, Cuonzo Martin, Billy Donlon and Jacie Hoyt, to protect cancer patients and preserve the future of cancer research.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). This initiative leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of coaches and communities nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs. Since 1993, Coaches vs. Cancer programs have raised nearly $115 million for the American Cancer Society.
OUR LIFESAVING MISSION
The American Cancer Society has invested more than $4.8 billion in cancer research since 1946, all to find treatments, uncover factors that may cause cancer and improve patients' quality of life.


To date, Coaches have raised over $115 million for the for the American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer program.

We are currently funding
13 grants across Missouri totaling over $6.6 million*
in research.
We raised $225K+ at the 2019 Coaches vs. Cancer KC Season Tipoff, with over 103K+ designated
to life-saving pediatric cancer research.
175+ patients received over 2,000 free rides to cancer treatment via our Road to Recovery program.

The Kansas City Hope Lodge provided 10,000+ free nights of lodging to patients and their caregivers in 2018.
Guests have come from all 50 states and various countries to stay at the Kansas City Hope Lodge.
With our portfolio of programs and services, we supported 2,500+ patients and caregivers in the Kansas City Metro through their cancer journey.
